The prime purpose of the Harrow Sports Council is to provide a vehicle for representatives of all sports within the London Borough of Harrow to meet together to discuss sport and recreation in general, and to make appropriate representations to the Borough.

The Harrow Sports Council's Executive Committee meets every two months. The officers have a regular dialogue with the Borough's representatives; and every attempt is made to keep both the Executive Committee and sports organisations generally up-to-date with any developments either by direct contact or through the local press.

It will be seen from the list of contacts that a number of sports are not represented on the Sports Council. This is doubly unfortunate. In the first place the views of these sports are not heard in the course of the Sports Council’s deliberations on matters, which may affect them. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, the valuable experience that these absent sports could bring to the Sports Council to the mutual advantage of sport generally is not available.
